The Willcox Meth Task Force (WMTF) was formed by key community members in hopes to prevent the first use of meth. Prevention is achieved by an aggressive education campaign within the Willcox community and its surrounding regions.
While Chief of Staff, for Northern Cochise Community Hospital in 2003 - 2007, Dr. Walker was confronted with the medical and psychological aspects of meth's use on a daily basis. Dr. Walker assisted in the development of the WMTF in hopes to educate the Willcox community on the effects of meth and to prevent their youth from starting meth.
Dr. Walker has traveled throughout Arizona to speak about meth, as well as, to teach other communities strategies to prevent meth's first use. In 2008, the conclusion of the Arizona Rural Policy Forum was to establish the "Willcox Model" as a statewide standard for community action.
